The City of Sandy Springs is now utilizing OpenGov for its online permitting and inspection services.

The City is making every effort to make the transition to the new online and back office permitting software as seamless as possible. To complete this transition, please note the following:

  • Online Portal Accounts: All existing customers will have to register for a new online portal account↗ before City staff can link your existing permits to your new account.
  • Contact Registration: All contractors and trade contractors are required to create a Contact Registration account↗ that will be used to verify their professional and business license each year that will be searchable for all permit applications. This will replace the need for a notarized affidavit. Any other contact that is frequently used in permit applications may also register for a Contact Registration to simplify the permitting process for the applicant.

As we transfer all our data to the new permitting software, the availability of existing permits and inspections will be limited in OpenGov.

  • Inspections:  If you cannot request your inspection through the online permitting portal, please use one of the following methods:
E-Mail: Send an e-mail request to inspections@sandyspringsga.gov. You must include the Permit Number, Project Address, Type of Inspection, Contact Name, Contact Phone Number, and Contact E-mail in your e-mail request.
Phone: Call Kamaria George at 770-206-1424.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we help to make things better for everyone! If you have any questions or need assistance with your existing permits, please feel free to call us at 770-206-4397.

Before You Apply

Use our digital Permit Discovery tool to simplify the permitting process. Plan Sandy Springs is a guided experience to help you discover where in the City a project is allowed, which permits you need to apply for, and an estimate of associated fees.
