Inspections

The City’s building inspectors verify the contractor’s or property owner’s work at each milestone of the project. These inspections ensure the state adopted building codes are being followed correctly. Once the project is complete, a final inspection is conducted and certificate of occupancy or completion will be issued based on the type of permit.

Request an Inspection

Please use the Request Inspection tool on Build Sandy Springs to schedule an inspection. Inspection Requests submitted prior to 2:00 pm on a weekday will be scheduled for the following business day.

Georgia Code also requires all dwellings to have smoke detectors installed. When alterations, repairs or additions requiring a permit occurs, smoke/CO alarms are required to be installed.
