After the Parade

A fish lantern floats on the Chattahoochee River

The parade ends at Morgan Falls Overlook Park, where the beauty of the Chattahoochee River meets the glow of hand-crafted lanterns. Gather at the top of the hill to enjoy a view of Water Lanterns floating peacefully on the river. After the Parade, Shuttles run continuously from Overlook Park to Event Parking.

What to Expect

🐠 Water Lanterns - Designed by Parade Artist Chantelle Rytter, five Water Lanterns are pulled by kayakers along the Chattahoochee River. The lanterns' shimmering lights reflect off the water's surface, creating a magical scene. Look for the whimsical Georgia Kissyfish, a 26-foot-long albino alligator, and more! Please remain at the top of the hill, do not climb over the fence.

🏮 Surrounded by Light & Color - As you wander through Overlook Park, you'll be surrounded by hundreds of creative, glowing lanterns. Attendees bring their own lanterns—each a unique, personal creation—adding to the vibrant, illuminated atmosphere. If you brought a Lantern, it's the best time to showcase your work of art!

🐦 Parade Puppets - This is the best opportunity to meet the iconic Lantern Parade Puppets. Giant, towering figures like Sanderson the Pig, and Cornflower & Indigo the Great Blue Herons roam throughout the park. New to the parade this year is Sunny the Swamp Sunflower! This a rare chance to marvel at their intricate details up close.

🎺 Live Music - Enjoy an hour of live music from the Black Sheep Ensemble, known for their high-energy brass and percussion sound. Their performance adds a celebratory touch to the evening!
