The Environmental Stewardship Program is possible through a partnership with Eco-Addendum’s Stewardship Trainings, which delivers hands-on educational experiences in Sandy Spring’s urban forest.
Native tree and plant identification, wildlife observation, and native biodiversity restoration are all covered topics in this program. These trainings also highlight the positive impact of urban forests on human well-being and city infrastructure.
Participants are positioned to become a dedicated Sandy Springs Eco-Steward, equipped to educate, lead volunteers, and collaborate with diverse partners. The program comprises twelve sessions per year, each hosted in different greenspaces, enabling you to explore a range of nature themes while reinforcing key skills such as species identification and environmental remediation.
All learning activities occur outdoors, fostering a direct connection to nature. Your commitment to attending sessions is the pathway to earning the Sandy Springs Eco-Steward certificate upon completion. This is your chance to nurture your environmental passion, deepen your understanding of local ecosystems, and foster community-wide environmental literacy. Become an Eco-Steward and lead the charge in keeping Sandy Springs beautiful.
