Temporary Structure Permits

A Temporary Use Permit is required for certain temporary structures and uses associated with construction or commercial activities.

Temporary structures commonly include trailers located on construction sites that function as sales, leasing, or marketing offices for a subdivision or development.

The Temporary Use Permit is processed through the Administrative Permit application, which also covers several related temporary uses such as swimming pools and temporary classrooms.

Who Can Apply for a Temporary Use Permit?

Temporary Use Permits may be obtained by:

  • Licensed contractors
  • Property owners

Temporary Use Permits are intended only for ongoing construction or commercial purposes.

Applying for a Temporary Use Permit

Applications can be submitted online through the City's Online Permitting Portal (Opens in a new tab).

The portal also allows applicants to:

  • Submit construction drawings
  • Pay invoices
  • Request inspections
  • Track permit status

Applicants may also schedule an appointment through QLess to meet with a Permit Technician at City Hall for assistance with the application process.
