Land Disturbance Permits
A Land Disturbance Permit is generally required when 1,000 square feet or more of ground disturbance is proposed. This may include grading, clearing, paving, grubbing, or other activities classified as land-disturbing under Article 9 of the City of Sandy Springs Development Code .
In some cases, a permit may also be required for disturbances under 1,000 square feet if the work:
- Requires erosion control Best Management Practices (BMPs)
- Changes topography or stormwater drainage patterns

Land Disturbance Permit fees include:
- $25 administrative fee
- $50 CO/CC fee

- $100 for residential projects

- $200 per lot for residential properties
- Technology fee ( varies based on permit cost )
Required Inspections
- Pre-construction meeting with a site inspector before any land-disturbing activities begin
- Stormwater receptor inspection, if applicable
- Final site inspection after all landscape stabilization and site work are completed
