Sandy Springs to Request Feedback on Future of Arts Programming

November 30, 2021

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (Nov. 30, 2021) – The City of Sandy Springs is seeking input on future arts programming at the Abernathy Arts Center and will host a community input meeting on Monday, Dec. 13. The meeting will take place from 6–7:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre at City Springs, located at 1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs, Ga. 30328.

In September, the Sandy Springs Public Facilities Authority approved the transfer of the Abernathy Arts Center from Fulton County as part of a quit claim deed. The 4.1-acre facility consists of four buildings, two tennis courts, a parking lot, and a playground. The Abernathy Arts Center was used primarily for community arts classes, camps, and cultural events.

Following a short presentation, the public will be asked to provide input on arts programming options and how to make the center a vital asset to the Sandy Springs community.
