Sandy Springs Announces 2026 Juneteenth Celebration at City Springs Presented by Sandy Springs Foundation

April 27, 2026

The City of Sandy Springs is proud to announce the return of its Juneteenth Celebration, presented by the Sandy Springs Foundation and hosted in partnership with the cities of Dunwoody and Brookhaven. This year’s event, expanded in response to popular demand, will take place on June 19 from 5 to 10 p.m. at City Springs.

Commemorating Juneteenth, the historic milestone marking the emancipation of the last enslaved African Americans in the United States, the event reflects on a powerful legacy of freedom, resilience, and progress. The 2026 celebration builds on this tradition with an exciting expansion to a fully outdoor experience on the City Green, offering engaging, culturally relevant, and family-friendly programming at no cost to the public.

Attendees can look forward to a full evening of entertainment, education, and cultural engagement, including:

  • Live performances showcasing local talent and powerful storytelling

  • Local vendors & food offerings highlighting diverse flavors and small businesses

  • STEAM Art Gallery celebrating African American creativity and heritage

  • Children’s activities & family programming designed for all ages

The 2026 celebration will spotlight several immersive and educational experiences:

  • Juneteenth STEAM Art Gallery -- Presented in partnership with LIQUID Arts and Productions, this Digital Art and Augmented Reality Program will culminate in a showcase of innovative digital artwork created by local high school students.

  • Original Production by Namari Dance Center -- A powerful, original performance blending dance, spoken word, and music to tell stories of heritage, identity, and resilience.

  • Genealogical Research Immersion Experience -- In collaboration with the Fulton County Public Library, Georgia Archives, and the Metro Atlanta Chapter of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, this initiative invites attendees to explore their ancestry and connect with their personal histories.

Sandy Springs’ Juneteenth Celebration is highly anticipated, drawing more than 4,000 attendees from across the metro Atlanta area for the annual celebration.
