City of Sandy Springs to Host Next Design Guidelines Public Meeting

October 27, 2025

The Sandy Springs community is invited to attend the next public meeting to help guide the development of design guidelines for the city's commercial areas.  At this fourth meeting of the design guidelines process, the public will have the opportunity to learn about and provide input on continued progress to date through a short presentation and open house.

Topics will include:

  • Progress to date: preparing design guidelines for the city’s commercial and mixed-use areas, as well as area-specific guidance for the stage one focus areas (City Springs, North End, and Perimeter).

  • Potential design approaches for stage two focus areas, including Powers Ferry and two focus areas at the southern end of Roswell Road (Crossroads and Neighborhood Village), based on feedback received since August 2025.

WHEN: Thursday, November 20. 6– 8 p.m.

WHERE: Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center

Studio Theatre Lobby, 1 Galambos Way

For those who are unable to attend, there will be online opportunities to review and provide input on materials presented at the meeting via an online comment form. Exhibit materials and feedback opportunities will be posted on spr.gs/design starting on November 20 and will remain open until December 14, 2025.

BACKGROUND:

The City of Sandy Springs is developing design guidelines for six primary commercial and mixed-use areas. These guidelines aim to ensure future development aligns with adopted planning documents and the Development Code and promotes a unique sense of place in Sandy Springs.

The guidelines will build on standards included in the Development Code and Technical Manual by providing additional design direction for building features, building sites, landscaping, streetscapes, and other elements that will shape the appearance and experience of six commercial and mixed-use areas of the city, including:

  • City Springs

  • Crossroads

  • Neighborhood Village

  • North End
