Sandy Springs to Host Next Ten Draft Comprehensive Plan 5-Year Update Public Meeting

Help Plan What Comes Next in Sandy Springs

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (May 12, 2022) – The Sandy Springs community is invited to review the draft recommendations for the Next Ten Comprehensive Plan 5-year Update. This is a 5-year update to the 2017 Next Ten Comprehensive Plan and will highlight the accomplishments over the past five years. A new project list and implementation schedule also will be provided for the next five years.

The community will have the opportunity to review and comment on draft recommendations for:

  • Economic Development
  • Green Space, Natural Systems and Sustainability
  • Housing
  • Land Use and Community Character

WHEN: Thursday, June 9, 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Sandy Springs City Hall, Studio Theatre, 1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs, Ga. 30328. Parking is available in the City Springs parking deck.

WHAT: The Next Ten Comprehensive Plan is the official statement of the City’s vision for its future. It expresses the Sandy Springs community’s aspirations and goals, while articulating a corresponding set of policies and recommendations to guide future decisions regarding land use, development, and capital improvements.

BACKGROUND: After extensive community engagement, the Next Ten Comprehensive Plan was adopted in February 2017 as a major 10-year update to the 2007 Comprehensive Plan. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs requires an update to the Comprehensive Plan every five years. The Next Ten 5-year Update will serve as a minor update to the 2017 Next Ten Comprehensive Plan.

The presentation, displays, and an online public input survey will be posted on the City’s website following the meeting. Public input will be accepted until Friday, June 24. For more information, please visit http://spr.gs/thenextten.
