Capital Sidewalk Program
The City’s Sidewalk Improvement Policy was created to provide an objective and consistent method for prioritizing sidewalk projects.
Sidewalks constructed as part of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP), including TSPLOST funds, follow the Sidewalk Network Master Plan and focus on overall mobility needs. New development projects are also required to install sidewalks or provide funding in accordance with the City’s development regulations and impact fee ordinance.

The Neighborhood Sidewalk Program referenced in the presentation provides an opportunity for neighborhoods to partner with the City to add primarily recreational and amenity-focused sidewalk features to local residential streets.
Requests for additional sidewalk segments to be scored in future evaluations may be submitted throughout the year by contacting the City’s Public Works Customer Service representatives at 770-730-5600 or by completing the Sandy Springs Sidewalk Request Form.

Maintenance
The City partners with contractors every four years to assess and repair existing sidewalks that require maintenance.
