TSPLOST Projects

TSPLOST 2021

On November 2, 2021, Sandy Springs voters approved a five-year TSPLOST extension to fund transportation projects throughout Sandy Springs. The referendum extended the existing 0.75% (three-quarters of a cent) sales tax approved by voters in November 2016.

The sales tax collection period runs from April 1, 2022, through March 31, 2027.

The TSPLOST 2021 renewal funds:

  • Sidewalks
  • Traffic safety and congestion relief
  • Road maintenance and paving
  • Multi-use paths
  • Pedestrian and bicycle improvements

TSPLOST projects were developed using a tiered revenue structure. Tier 2 and Tier 3 projects will proceed only if TSPLOST revenues exceed revenue projections.

TSPLOST 2016

On November 8, 2016, Fulton County voters, including Sandy Springs residents, approved the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST), a referendum to fund transportation improvements within participating cities. In Sandy Springs, TSPLOST passed with 56.7% of the vote.

Collection of the 0.75% sales tax began in April 2017 to fund TSPLOST transportation projects.

Who pays the 0.75% tax?

The sales tax is paid by residents, visitors, businesses, and tourists who purchase taxable products or services within Fulton County outside the City of Atlanta limits.

Where will the money be spent?

TSPLOST funds are allocated to projects identified and approved by City Council as part of the TSPLOST initiative.
